Possible location discovered: Is this where the secret of “One Piece” lies?

Eiichiro Oda wrote the secret of “One Piece” on a piece of paper and sank it into the sea to celebrate 600 million copies of the manga. A fan now believes he has found the possible location of the coveted “treasure”.

Treasure fever broke out

Some people already jokingly suspected it in the comments to our previous article, but now it has actually been confirmed – the first fans have set out to search for the secret of “One Piece”, which manga creator Eiichiro Oda sank in the sea at an unknown location.

In a Reddit post, one of them concluded that the precious cargo is most likely in Suruga Bay in Shizuoka Prefecture. He supported his assessment with several arguments.

He had analyzed the official video and was therefore certain that the “treasure” was sunk in Japanese waters – probably with the consent of the coast guard. This would be indicated by the red and blue stripes on the ship and the mention of JAMSTEC (Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology).

651 meters depth

Since no land is visible to the southwest and the sun sets there around 4 p.m., the coast must be northeast behind the ship.

In addition, the official information that the secret of “One Piece” was buried at a depth of approximately 651 meters also limits the search at least somewhat. It also has to be a seabed whose sediment is not disturbed much – which is why the fan ultimately settled on Suruga Bay:

»Near Tokyo, where Oda lives. Matches all indications, easy to reach, easy to recover, no strong bottom currents, no land visible when looking southwest, and a known JAMSTEC test site.”

So far, however, it is only a guess and no one has Oda’s “treasure” in their hands yet. If anything changes before the official rescue after the conclusion of “One Piece”, you will of course find out about it here. You can watch the corresponding video below these lines.
