Disc date for “The Case Study of Vanitas” has been set + Design


In a few weeks Crunchyroll will begin disc releasing “The Case Study of Vanitas” (Japanese: “Vanitas no Carte”). In keeping with this, the publisher has now revealed new details and the design of the first volume. We summarize.

Disc release from May 2026

The first volume of “The Case Study of Vanitas” is expected to be released on Blu-ray on May 1, 2026. This includes the first twelve episodes with German and Japanese language versions as well as two art cards, promo videos, a poster, web previews and clean versions of the opening and ending sequences.

Pre-ordering is already possible on Amazon and in the AKIBA PASS SHOP. The second volume with episodes 13 to 24 is listed for October 31, 2026.

Studio Bones was responsible for the production of the 24-part fantasy series, with Tomoyuki Itamura (“Call of the Night”) directing and Hitomi Mieno (“May I Ask for One Final Thing?”) writing the script.

The anime adaptation of Jun Mochizuki’s original manga series of the same name ran in two parts on Japanese television between July 2021 and April 2022 and is already available in full on Crunchyroll.

In 19th century Paris, the vampire Noé is looking for the legendary Book of Vanitas. When a mad vampire attacks him, a human named Vanitas saves him and heals the victim with this very book.

The self-proclaimed doctor wants to “cure” all vampires. Noé joins him – but can he really trust Vanitas?
