New details about the “Witch on the Holy Night” anime + teaser


New details and a teaser were announced today on the official website of the anime adaptation of “Witch on the Holy Night” (Japanese: “Mahoutsukai no Yoru”). We summarize all the details below.

Starting this year

The anime adaptation of “Witch on the Holy Night” is a film that is being made by the ufotable studio and is expected to be released in Japanese cinemas later this year. However, a specific date is still pending.

The main roles of the Japanese cast include Haruka Tomatsu (Satsuki Sumeragi in “Seirei Gensouki”) as Aoko Aozaki and Kana Hanazawa (Sam Young in “Let’s Play”) as Alice Kuonji. Yusuke Kobayashi voices Soujuurou Shizuki.

The underlying visual novel by the game developer Type-Moon, who has already produced the “Fate” series, was released in Japan in April 2012 for Microsoft Windows and in December 2022 worldwide for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

At the end of the Shōwa era in the late 1980s, it is said that there is an old villa in Misaki in which a witch lives. After moving in, Aoko Aozaki learns magic from the young magician Alice Kuonji, the alleged witch.

As heiress, Aoko protects the city’s land. Intruders disrupt the protective field, a doll attacks. Shortly afterwards, Soujuurou Shizuki moves in with them.
