Pokémon ZA still without Pokémon Home, an imminent announcement could unlock everything

Four months after its release, Pokémon Legends ZA remains deprived of an essential feature for many players: compatibility with Pokémon Home. A situation that is starting to annoy the community, even though the game has been available since October 16, 2025.

Published by Nintendo and developed by Game Freak, ZA was logically expected to follow the trajectory of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which gained Pokémon Home support approximately four months after its launch. In February 2026, the wait still continues, even though a 2026 release window is confirmed.

Pokémon Legends ZA still without Pokémon Home after four months

The comparison with Pokémon Legends: Arceus is inevitable. The previous episode had obtained Home compatibility just a few months after its release. For ZA, the schedule is similar, but the update is still slow to arrive. At this stage, compatibility remains officially planned for 2026. No delays have been announced, but the lack of a precise date maintains the uncertainty. For players wanting to transfer their creatures to other games or Pokémon Champions, frustration is growing.

How the transfer to Pokémon Champions will work

An important clarification has been made regarding the operation of transfers. Pokémon Legends ZA and Pokémon Champions will not be directly compatible. Players will first need to deposit their Pokémon into Pokémon Home, then transfer them to Pokémon Champions. A mandatory intermediate step, which slightly complicates the process but which remains technically viable.

Important restrictions to know

Beyond the deadline, it is above all the announced limitations which attract attention. One rule was confirmed during the Home support announcement: “Pokémon you befriend in ZA cannot be transferred to previous Pokémon games. Even if you have already befriended a Pokémon in old Pokémon games, once you transfer it to Pokémon Legends ZA, you will no longer be able to transfer it to previous Pokémon games.”

In other words, a Pokémon transferred to ZA will no longer be able to return to an old title. A major technical restriction which could influence the choices of the most strategic players.

An expected announcement during Pokémon Day?

The community is now speculating about a possible reveal during Pokémon Day, usually held at the end of February. Some are hoping for a grouped announcement including Pokémon Home compatibility and, why not, a Mystery Gift event to conclude the ZA cycle. The game has already offered several special events, including one around Mewtwo discovered in an underground laboratory. For now, players must wait, hoping that the promised compatibility for 2026 materializes in the coming weeks.
