TMS Entertainment takes over “Blue Box” studio Telecom Animation Film

Anime studio TMS Entertainment announced in a merger announcement that it will fully acquire its subsidiary Telecom Animation Film.

Studio is being dissolved

This move leads to the dissolution of the indebted studio Telecom Animation Film, which has repeatedly been in the red and recorded a loss of 346 million yen (approximately 1.9 million euros) in the last financial year, with all rights and obligations now being transferred to TMS Entertainment.

Telecom Animation Film was founded on May 19, 1975 and was housed in the offices of TMS Entertainment (then Shin Studio Tokyo Movie).

The studios have already worked together on anime projects, including “Blue Box”, “Tower of God”, “The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse” as well as several films and series based on the successful cult franchise “Lupin the 3rd”.
