No difficulty mode, no microtransactions… the latest information on the game of Pearl Abyss

Pearl Abyss still wants to show off her credentials

Pearl Abyss may have already shown a lot about Crimson Desertthere is still so much to see. This is why a demo would not have been too much, but Will Powers reconfirms here that it should not see the light of day, because it would be too complicated to show everything the game has to offer in a short segment.

Here’s what else we can learn about Crimson Desert during this long interview:

  • There will be no difficulty modeand the monsters will not adapt to your level
  • Progression is made rather by the equipment that you will obtain, in particular with the artifacts from the Abyss (the dungeons in the sky)
  • No dialogue optionsthe story will have no branch
  • No microtransactions apart from pre-order bonuses
  • No durability system on weapons, but tools can break
  • You will not be able to reassign the keys (on a controller), which would be too complex to manage due to the different possible interactions with the same key

Since the game will apparently be shown to the press again in a few weeks (according to this interview), we should still discover quite a bit of information about the game in a short time. Crimson Desert will be available from March 19 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
