PS Plus: Sony rolls out global discount of up to 35% in February 2026

Sony has launched a new international promotion on PlayStation Plus to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The offer concerns several subscription plans and is aimed at both new subscribers and certain old members whose subscription has expired.

In the US, new subscribers can get one year of PS Plus Premium starting at $99.99. A similar initiative is being rolled out in other regions, with price and percentage variations depending on the territory.

Up to 35% off PS Plus Premium

The most attractive offer concerns PS Plus Premium. Sony announces a discount of up to 35% for new subscribers. The annual price thus increases to $99.99 in the United States. The definition of “new subscribers” remains unclear. Sony does not provide any official details on the exact criteria. However, it appears that players whose subscriptions have expired for a while may also be eligible. The offer is not individually targeted. It appears directly on the regional PlayStation Plus pages, which confirms its global deployment. However, the reduction percentage may vary depending on the country.

PS Plus Extra also on sale

Players interested in the intermediate offer can turn to PS Plus Extra. The 12-month subscription has a discount of up to 25% for new subscribers. However, no discounts are offered for the Essential plan as part of this Lunar New Year campaign. This distinction is part of Sony’s strategy to promote the service’s superior plans, notably Premium and Extra, which offer a more extensive catalog and additional features.

Upgrade Offers for Current Members

Current members are not completely excluded from the operation. Essential or Extra subscribers can receive a discount when upgrading. Extra or Essential members can get up to 35% off when upgrading to Premium (or Deluxe in some regions). For their part, Essential subscribers wishing to migrate to Extra can benefit from a reduction of up to 25%. However, no renewal offer is available. Current Premium members do not appear to be affected by a discount on their existing subscription.

A global but limited operation

The promotion can be seen on regional PlayStation Plus pages around the world, confirming its international rollout. However, Sony specifies that the exact percentage may vary by region. To find out the precise conditions and check eligibility, users must go to the Subscriptions section of the PlayStation Store. This campaign is part of Sony’s recurring promotional strategy, which uses major calendar events to boost subscriptions to its online service.
