The mustachioed plumber continues to blow out his candles with fanfare. After a year 2025 marked by many surprises for his 40th birthday, Mario is once again in the spotlight this week. Nintendo has launched a special operation to mark the release of Mario Tennis Fever, with digital gifts to be collected on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
Since February 12, users can visit the Nintendo Switch Online application to discover a new selection of customizable icons inspired by the world of Mario Tennis Fever. These cosmetic elements – avatars, frames and backgrounds – feature the stars of the series: Mario, Luigi, Peach, but also the different tennis courts in the game. And that’s not all: new icons will be added every week, until March 11.
How to get freebies on Switch?
To collect these items, simply open the Nintendo Switch Online application on your console, then go to the Missions and Rewards section. There, all the items to be exchanged are displayed according to their cost in platinum points.
These points can be obtained easily, by carrying out simple actions: connecting, playing certain titles, or completing challenges offered by Nintendo. To unlock the entire set of Mario Tennis Fever icons, you will need to collect 205 platinum points in total.
Exclusive icons change weekly
Please note: the icons will not be available indefinitely. As reported by the NSO Icon Alerts account, the proposed visuals will change weekly until March 11. You will therefore have to come back to the application regularly so as not to miss anything from this time-limited operation.
Each week will feature a new theme or character from the Mario Tennis Fever game, a way to continue the excitement around the game’s release while offering Nintendo Switch Online service subscribers a way to personalize their profile.
