An anniversary event with free rewards
Like every year, Respawn pulls out all the stops. This 7 year old edition offers a series of challenges allowing you to unlock for free :
- Legendary skins
- A reactive weapon skin
- Exclusive cosmetic items
- Fragments of mythical objects
Note that some anniversary packs also guarantee specific rewards with a reworked system to make the event more accessible. Respawn emphasizes the desire to reward the loyalty of players, old and new.
The highlight of this edition is a nice, responsive weapon skin that can be obtained during the event. As usual with this type of object, its appearance evolves depending on performance in part. Following the anniversary event will also allow you to gradually unlock rewards simply by playing.
New mechanics and gameplay developments
Respawn explains that it wants to refine the diversity of team compositions, particularly in competitive. Several legends (notably Bloddhound, Catalyst and Fuse) have been adjusted, with:
- Changes to certain tactical capabilities
- Adjustments to cooldowns
- Changes to the power or effectiveness of certain ultimates
The aim is to avoid systematic dominant compositions and encourage more diverse teams. Season 28 also brings notable changes to the arsenal, including:
- A rebalancing of certain weapons considered too efficient
- Adjustments to damage or stability
- Changes to loot rotation
Respawn specifies that these changes aim to streamline clashes and reduce certain imbalances observed at the end of the previous season. Beyond content additions, this update focuses heavily on meta stability and overall balancing. The development team reminds that it will monitor player feedback in order to make possible corrective adjustments in the coming weeks.
