A false start that can be made up for
Despite reaching a million sales very quickly, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds visibly experienced a slight drop in speed. At least, SEGA indicates that it hoped to see the game sell a little more than that. In its new financial statement, the publisher indicates that it hopes to be able to pass the 2 million sales mark by the end of the fiscal year (i.e. before March 31) while continuing to sell the game over time (this is common for this type of production anyway), but he admits that he was aiming for better numbers :
“ We recently announced that global cumulative sales have exceeded one million units. However, initial performance has not met our expectations and we aim to sell approximately one million more units this fiscal year. We want to ensure long-term sales by encouraging players to enjoy the game over time through ongoing support, including the regular release of additional downloadable content. »
If it reaches two million sales within a few weeks, the score remains honorable, but SEGA was undoubtedly hoping that the good health of the license would help this title sell a little more quickly.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and both Switch.
