With soaring prices and ever-increasing subscriptions, finding good, truly free games is becoming a sport in its own right. However, on the PlayStation Store, there are pearls accessible without spending a cent, without PS Plus and above all: which you keep for life once downloaded.

To save you time, we have grouped together 12 long (or even very long) games or demos not to be missed in February 2026. All have been chosen for their real interest – not a simple showcase or sloppy free-to-play. And to help you find your way around, we present them to you by genre.

For shooting fans: 3 free FPS that deserve your attention

  • Battlefield REDSEC : a futuristic tactical shooting experience in a burning Fort Lyndon. Includes Gauntlet mode and a full-featured Portal editor.
  • Destiny 2 : Bungie’s staple continues to shine with its single-player missions, cooperative multiplayer and PvP events.
  • Delta Force : modernized remake of Black Hawk Down, with PvP, extraction and narrative solo. A successful and addictive return.

RPG and open worlds: 3 adventures to explore for free

  • Where Winds Meet : Chinese action-RPG in a sumptuously modeled 10th century China. Saber fights, infiltration and puzzles are on the program.
  • Infinity Nikki : don’t be fooled by its childish appearance. This game mixes fashion, mysteries and exploration in a pastel world full of secrets.
  • Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties (demo) : remake of a classic. Play as Kiryu in a new secondary story between fights and emotions.

Do you like to shiver? 3 free horror games to try

  • Reanimal (demo) : cooperative exploration of an abandoned mill. The atmosphere is heavy, the decisions are vital.
  • Alisa (demo) : retro adventure in a mansion haunted by mechanical dolls. Visually strange, but very successful.
  • Crow Country (demo) : nostalgic PS1 atmosphere, 3D pixel visuals, and oppressive narration. A lovely, horrific surprise.

For sports fans: 3 games to try with family or friends

  • EA Skate (early access) : the return of the king of the board. Smooth multiplayer, stylish tricks, and open access at no cost.
  • My First Gran Turismo : light version of the legendary GT, designed for young players. Perfect for getting started behind the wheel.
  • EA Sports FC 26 Showcase : enhanced demo version of the latest FIFA. Club modes, events and friendly matches are available for free.

Why These Games Are Really Free (And Worth Keeping)

All titles listed here can be downloaded for free from the PlayStation Store without a PS Plus subscription. For demos, there is no time limit: once on your console, you can replay them as much as you want.

Some titles (like Delta Force or Nikki) evolve into full versions, but their basic content remains rich and perfectly playable. Ideal for treating yourself at no cost.
