A major strike could take place at Ubisoft from February 10 to 12 following restructuring announcements

A strike that might not be limited to France

A half-day strike had already been organized at Ubisoft directly after the announcements made by the group last week, but this time, the call for a strike is much more important and does not only concern a union. In addition to finding Solidaires Informatique, the STJV (Video Game Workers Union), the CFE-CGC, the CGT, and Printemps Écologique would also join the movement, and this could cross borders. The site indicates that these unions are in discussions with the publisher’s branches abroad in order to propose a collective strike from February 10 to 12.

Behind this strike lies the concern of seeing new positions eliminated, a growing fear since yesterday’s announcement of a voluntary departure plan at Ubisoft Paris which could concern up to 200 positions, or 18% of the workforce. Changes to teleworking are also a matter of concern within teams.

Case to be continued, at Ubisoft which has suffered greatly on the stock market since these announcements while its employees are plunged into great uncertainty.
