Like last year, we of course remember that this is a non-exhaustive list, or rather a selection of titles appreciated by the press or players. We finally find both AA and AAA productions in the lot, with a few surprises.
RoboQuest VR
- Release date: 11/20/2025
- Developer/Publisher: Flat2VR Studios/StarBreeze Publishing
- Supports: PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest
We start with RoboQuest VRa nice roguelite FPS which had already seduced its world in a non-VR version. It was at the end of November that the software became available on PSVR2, SteamVR and Meta Quest. A bit like the non-VR version, the title will put us in the shoes of a guardian having to unsolder a legion of robots, in order to reach the city of Haven 8.
On the program for this production, you will have a high quality VR port that responds to the finger and the eye. In addition, you will have almost the same content as the original game with a substantial arsenal and improvements, sprinkled with an ultra nervous and dynamic feeling in the gunfights. Taking down robots has never been so much fun in virtual reality, and its cartoonish artistic direction is a big plus for this Lyon production made in RyseUp Studios, which we highly recommend.
Pirate VR: Jolly Roger
- Release date: 01/14/2025
- Developer/Publisher: Split Light Studio/VRKiwi
- Supports: PlayStation VR2, SteamVR
Among the games that were released at the beginning of the year and which subsequently fell into oblivion, there is Pirate VR: Jolly Roger. Here you will play as a pirate arriving on an island in the Caribbean, in the company of a parrot who is a little too talkative, but funny. Here you will have to unravel the mysteries of this place, and why not try to unearth Davy Jones’ treasure.
With this nice plot on paper but frankly too much on the surface, the title manages to stand out with gameplay that mixes a lot of things. Puzzles, fights against vile skeletons or even climbing, suffice to say that the title clearly has a lot of ideas and offers a solid proposition. So certainly, there are archaic, under-exploited gameplay ideas and even a bestiary that is struggling to renew itself. But ultimately, the game is a short experience that is worth it, especially since it remains really beautiful for VR.
Arken Age
- Release date: 01/16/2025
- Developer/Publisher: Vitruvius VR
- Supports: PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest
Arken Age was also released at the start of 2025, but has widely appealed to players. The game takes place in a terraformed world called Bio-Chasm, and made by the Grand Arborist. Your mission will simply be to neutralize Hyperion’s neuronal corruption, and restore peace again. The title of Vitruvius VR clearly takes us into a unique lore, while providing gameplay that does not make fun of us.
Enemies are challenging in gun and sword fights, and physics plays an important role in them. Add to this a well-balanced weapon crafting and healing system or even climbing for gameplay, and we have here an action and adventure game in VR which largely manages to surpass other VR games released that same year. There is no denying that Vitruvius VR has done well, and we recommend it without moderation.
Reach
- Release date: 16/10/2025
- Developer/Publisher: nDreams Elevation/nDreams
- Supports: PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest
After Synapsewe waited a bit Reach at the turning point given that it is published by nDreams, but developed by a branch specialized in AAA VR, namely nDreams Elevation. The pitch of the game is simple: you take control of Rosa, going from one day actress to heroine to save the world. Because just after an earthquake, our protagonist discovers an ancient civilization, and will have to lock up Lithos again in order to save the world.
Reach surprises in a good way with gameplay that responds well between climbing, platforms but also bow gunfights. The software is also well calibrated with a transcendent puzzle aspect, and some organic gameplay elements, notably on Rosa’s improvements, or the elemental arrows to collect. On the other hand, there are some bugs and gameplay issues in terms of repetitiveness or even bombastic writing, but the universe is captivating enough to be tempted by this adventure, which is at least worth the detour.
Ghost Town
- Release date: 07/15/2025
- Developer/Publisher: Fireproof Games
- Supports: PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, Meta Quest
We continue this time with a ghost hunter to play in Ghost Town. Taking place in London in 1983, you take on the role of Edith Penrose, a ghost hunter exorcising spirits, and going in search of her brother, who has mysteriously disappeared. Our protagonist will thus travel through many environments, and try to unravel this mystery, which will not be easy.
In this supernatural adventure, from London via the Scottish islands, Edith will have to find many clues. This will include solving clever puzzles, using your flashlight to find your way around the scenery, or activating magic seals, which will summon tormented spirits to send back to the other world. The gameplay offered is frankly gripping as is its plot, terribly captivating and offering interesting characters from start to finish. Quite honestly, he places himself largely at the table of Arken Age even Marvel’s Deadpool VRand that’s not nothing.
The Midnight Walk
- Release date: 05/08/2025
- Developer/Publisher: MoonHood/Fast Travel Games
- Supports: Steam VR, PlayStation VR2
So yes we are cheating a little bit given that the game is also playable in non-VR, but it deserves to be in this article given that it can also be played in VR. This very special game immerses you in a dark universe where you meet a lost lantern. In his company, you will have to light the way and discover a whole world of wonders and horrors of all kinds.
It must be admitted, the background proposed in The Midnight Walk all stop-motion is undeniably eye-catching, and what’s more with very good use of VR. The MoonHood production will offer us the opportunity to solve some puzzles with our lantern, but also avoid some unsavory monsters in the infiltration phases. In addition, light will be an important element in repelling monsters. The Midnight Walk is an excellent VR version, and we simply recommend it because of the uniqueness of what it offers.
Marvel’s Deadpool VR
- Release date: 11/18/2025
- Developer/Publisher: Twisted Pixel Games/Oculus Studios
- Supports: Meta Quest
We end in style with Marvel’s Deadpool VR. To keep his story short, we follow Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, sucked into Mojo. Our anti-hero is summoned to bring back supervillains from various universes, and make them participate almost by force in arena fights, led by the villain Mojo. A scenario already seen in certain Deadpool comics, of course, but offering a story with exciting cameos, and a truly badass direction.
In addition to its history, Marvel’s Deadpool VR is exhilarating in its gameplay. You will have endless gunfights, and very nervous, while relying on the style to raise the level of spectators of our hero, but also of the platform and some ultra fun boss fights. The equipment system is also well calibrated via the store, and Deadpool’s ultimate attacks are exhilarating and hilarious as can be. Well, it may not be so perfect because some levels have lame level design, but if you’re a fan of this crazy character or his comic book aesthetic, then go for it with your eyes closed. Especially since there are surprises.
This is our small selection of VR games that should be played in 2025. Remember that this list is obviously not exhaustive. Even if it is average, we could have cited Human Within for those nostalgic for FMV games with multiple choices. What’s more, we will also have been able to talk about Zombie Army VR which can be fun to do, or else the friendly Thief VR: Legacy of Shadowwhich has gone a little under the radar but remains to be seen for fans of the franchise. In any case, this year 2025 has not spoiled us enough in VR games, and we hope that 2026 will be busier. Besides, you can find our 8 VR games to play in 2026 if you wish.
