An opportunity not to be missed presents itself for PC players: two games are currently offered on Steam, but the offer ends tomorrow at 6 p.m. Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena and Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman are the affected titles. Two very different experiences, to recover quickly to keep them permanently in your library.
Offered free of charge until January 22, 2026 at 6 p.m. (GMT time), these games do not require any subscription or special conditions. Once downloaded, they are yours for good. A godsend, especially when one of the two titles is rather well rated by the community.
Crown Champion, a retro RPG in the arena
Developed by Pilgrim Adventures and published by GrabTheGames, Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena is an unexpected mix of RPG and strategic management. Launched in 2016, the game places you at the head of a school of gladiators in a fantasy universe. Objective: train your fighters, climb the ranks of notoriety, and conquer the mythical arenas of the kingdom.
The synopsis sets the tone: “In Crown Champion: Legends of the Arena, you are neither a hero, nor a noble ruler, nor even a fighter.” Immersion is immediate, in a universe where everything relies on your managerial talent and your strategic flair. “You are now the new owner of a team of fighting slaves, one of many factions vying to win the adoration of the people in the ancient and legendary arenas of the Crownlands.”
On Steam, the feedback is positive. One of the comments sums up the players’ surprise well: “I wasn’t expecting much since it’s a free game, but damn, it’s excellent!”
Battle Simulator, a strategy parody with questionable taste
Total change of atmosphere with Battle Simulator: Counter Stickman. This real-time strategy game, developed by Yurii Nikshynch, features stickmen in absurd and polygonal fights. You lead the “Stickman Anti-Terrorist Forces” in a series of battles with minimalist graphics.
If the experience is confusing, it provokes a reaction. The game clearly divides the players. “I received this game for free and it’s probably one of the worst I’ve played on Steam,” laments one player. Another added wryly: “This game was truly awful. I found it by chance in the Steam store search bar, offered as a free game at a reduced price. It’s unacceptable not to have been paid to play it.”
How to get them before the offer ends
Offer ends this January 22, 2026 at 6 p.m. GMT. Beyond this date, Crown Champion will go back to £4.29 and Battle Simulator at £2.49. The economic gain is not colossal, but the opportunity remains attractive to expand your collection of PC games at no cost.
Remember to check the time zone in your region so as not to miss the window. Just go to Steam, click “Add to Library”, and the games will be yours forever.
